Dogs Don’t Bite Charities

"This book is for Madeline, Celeste, Dopey, Ricky, Schatze, Boston, John, Casey Bear, Sweet Dreams, Katie, Mead, Luna, and Blue -- all great teachers, loving companions, and real friends. We dedicate it also to all those dogs throughout the world that suffer because they live without a human companion to care for them. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to organizations that are helping them find their way home."

To fulfill this commitment the authors have selected the following organizations for those donations and you are encouraged to support them in whatever way that you are able.

Amigos de los Animales de Guanajuato is a voluntary, nonprofit organization established in 2002 to help end the suffering of companion animals in Guanajuato, Mexico. Amigos de los Animales conducts public education programs to raise awareness of animals’ needs, prevent unwanted reproduction of dogs and cats by subsidizing a neutering program in the city of Guanajuato and surrounding villages, encourages the adoption of homeless dogs and cats, and promotes humane laws and policies affecting animals. PetSmart Charities is the Charitable Foundation established by PetSmart Corporation to support animal welfare in local communities. PetSmart Charities has granted over $24 million to animal welfare organizations and shelters. In store adoptions have saved nearly 1.5 million homeless pets to date. Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch is a "never kill" rescue ranch for abused and abandoned animals. The well-known writer, singer, and musician, Kinky Friedman, founded utopia out of his love for animals. Utopia often rescues animals from pounds that are going to be euthanized. The animals are available for adoption, but even if they never leave the ranch they have a home for life. If an adoption does not work out, the adoption contract stipulates that the animal will be returned to the ranch. The Humane Society of Greater Dallas Cruelty Division has a mission of improving the lives of all domestic animals through education, cruelty investigation, and enforcement. Since its formation in 1972 the Humane Society of Greater Dallas has been aggressively involved in the effort to end animal suffering. The Animal Cruelty Division responds to all reports of animal cruelty and also assists law enforcement agencies in prosecuting cases of abuse.
